Pradeep Rana, a student of Graphic Era Hill University, who has traveled on a bicycle journey with enthusiasm to touch the sky, has set a new world record after traveling 15, 261 kms. Pradeep Rana broke the world record of the longest distance to cycle. Still, Pradeep's bicycle tour is not halted. Graphic Era Hill University’s B.Sc(I.T.) student, Pradeep started this cycle campaign from University campus 116 days ago. The Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr. Sanjay Jasola, flagged off Pradeep’s bicycle journey with a green flag. Mr. Kishan Rana, father of Pradeep Rana, a resident of Garun region of Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, is a farmer. Pradeep reached Palampur in Himachal Pradesh today after being bitten by many sour and sweet experiences during cycling tour. During this time, he has traveled a lot of states including UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Nagaland, Sikkim, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Assam, Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. Pradeep said that during cycling, many times he has faced wild animals. During his journey from Kerala to Karnataka, he faced elephants from the distance of about 100 meters in the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary area. And in the same region, just a week before, the wild elephant had killed one person. Pradeep said that he walked away from elephants by running fast bicycles with silence. Pradeep runs cycle from 130 to 140 kilometers per day. During the early days of the campaign, he had some trouble due to rain for nearly 40 days. But his enthusiasm increased instead of going down. In the mountainous region, barely 100 kilometers of cycles are run in a day. Pradeep Rana said that till now people everywhere have encouraged him throughout his journey. All people associated with different religions and cultures have met him with great affection. Everywhere people have provided him shelter with great pleasure where he used to spend his night. He also said that while meeting the people of different customs and culture, he realized that despite all these differences, we all are one. There were cyclic punctures too many times during his journey, but this did not affect his travel. Pradeep himself used to fix the puncture in a few minutes. He said that by breaking the world record of 14.576 km cycle of Prasad Irande's 141 days, Santosh Holi had set a world record for running 15,222 km of cycles in 111 days in 2015. Pradeep Rana has broken this record of Santosh Holi of the Guinness Book. Pradeep Rana wants to establish a record of cycling 20 thousand kilometers through this campaign. By completing this campaign, Pradeep Rana will reach Dehradun on the first week of October. President of Graphic Era Group, Dr. Kamal Ghanshal congratulated Pradeep Rana on setting a new world record. He said that along with Graphic Era Hill University, entire Uttarakhand is proud of Pradeep Rana. He also said that this is the fifth record of Graphic Era’s teachers and students. Earlier, the university's teachers and students had set up two world records and two national records. He said that Graphic Era’s environment is not meant to inspire everyone for education and competitions alone, but also to encourage the students and provide them a platform where they can turn their dreams into reality.
