1. Monochrome: Black and white has made a huge comeback this year with even wedding photography seeing images in monochrome. It is no longer limited to art or arty looks but used to capture moments of celebration, as well as in advertising and commercial photography worldwide. Of course portraits in black and white will always be in fashion and always look fabulous but if you’ve been wanting to shoot a wider range in monochrome, this is your year to experiment!
Ace photographer Chenthil Mohan on wedding photography’s dos and don’ts Canvera: What do you think are the big issues in wedding photography as it stands today? Chenthil: The wedding photography market is saturated; what you call ‘candid wedding’ today is a much mutated form of real candid photography. The trend picked up in 2008-2009, I got into it around 2009, and what we called candid then cannot be recognised today.
